Calabasas Study Group

A Psychobiological Approach to Couples Psychotherapy™
The purpose of this group is:
-
to study the current information and
trends within and between the seemingly disparate fields of attachment,
infant brain development, developmental object relations, arousal and affect regulation and neuroscience,
and gain knowledge from them;
-
to integrate this knowledge in a useful
and meaningful way;
-
to apply this knowledge to the work with
couples;
-
to formulate interventions
based on our understanding of the mind-brain-body problem.
Participants of this group will become familiar and eventually fluent
in all aspects of the developmental psychobiological approach (arousal/affect
regulation and attachment), and will be able to clinically
integrate and make use of this approach in clinical
practice.
